Terrapin Volunteer Day – 6/12/25 – Food Bank of the Rockies Mobile Pantry

Jun 16, 2025

We handed out 3,813 meals in groceries to over 110 families in need!

Food Bank of the Rockies has a program called the Mobile Pantry: a site where people can come located in their communities and pick up groceries provided by volunteers every quarter.

Need isn’t always conveniently located, which is why Food Bank of the Rockies deploys more than 70 Mobile Pantries to bring food directly to communities where it is needed most. Serving urban and rural neighborhoods throughout Colorado and Wyoming, Mobile Pantries operate free of cost to Hunger Relief Partners and clients and, in 2024, provided enough food for more than 386,700 meals every month.

The Mobile Pantry Program is essential to providing communities with direct distribution, as opposed to asking clients to travel long distances to receive the food they need.

Our team, along with other volunteers and the FBR team packed boxes and bags of food consisting of refrigerated and frozen products, bread, grains, protein, canned goods, fresh produce, and dairy.

We helped direct traffic, carried boxes for people that walked up, place boxes and bags into cars, and spoke with so many people picking up food for themselves, their neighbors, or others in their community.

There are few better feelings in this world than helping to feed people. Food and water are some of our most fundamental needs. Without them, or living in fear of losing them, it’s hard to function.

We encourage you to join us in feeding the community. Volunteer or donate to Food Bank of the Rockies!
